Infant Circumcision is
a surgical procedure performed to remove the loose tissue, known
as the foreskin, covering the glans of the penis. This worldwide
procedure is performed for health, religious, or cultural
reasons shortly after birth, around puberty, or during young
adulthood. The World Health Organization (WHO), the Joint United
Nations Program on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS), and the Center for
Disease Control (CDC) state evidence that indicates male
circumcision significantly reduces the risk of female-to-male
HIV transmission by over 50%. The
Circumcision Trainers have been developed with the assistance
from one of the top medical schools in Wisconsin, as well as
medical professionals in South Africa and Indonesia. The
trainers include the foreskin, glans penis, frenulum, meatus,
and coronal groove. These trainers are made with our soft,
lifelike material, which is pliable, delicate, and realistic to
the touch. Medical students, physicians, and other practitioners
can learn, practice, and improve realistic, hands-on skills for
this delicate procedure without the worry of learning on a live
patient. Practice simulating dorsal block injection, separating
the inner lining of the foreskin (preputial epithelium) from its
attachment to the glans, surgical removal of the foreskin, and
suturing techniques. These trainers may also be used to
demonstrate the procedure and practice aftercare skills to
family members. Since there are different methods of
circumcision, the Circumcision Trainers have been designed for
Mogen clamp method, Guillotine clamp method, Gomco clamp method,

Caring for a baby with an ostomy may feel
overwhelming. The Infant Ostomy Trainer has been
created to educate caregivers and parents on how to give special
care to an infant with a stoma. This trainer will help by
teaching step-by-step procedures for cleaning and caring for a
baby’s stoma and changing the pouching system. The anatomy of
the colostomies were carefully reproduced to provide lifelike
appearance and functions. A soft, pliable material is used for
the stomas in order to achieve the most realistic tactile
sensation. The syringes included are used to inject simulated
stool through ports to the colostomy sites. Consistency of the
simulated stool can be thinned by adding water. The colostomy
sites can also be irrigated. The simulated stool may be reused.
Trainer comes complete with one ostomy bag, a glove, two 3 cc
syringes, 1 oz. jar of stool, 1 oz. jar of lubricant, wash

care possible, Nasco is proud to introduce the Life/form®
Micro-Preemie. This 25-week ELBW (Extremely Low Birth Weight)
neonate is the smallest and most realistic pre-term infant
available. Invaluable for training nurses and parents in care
and handling techniques for babies that have had multiple
medical interventions; the perfect team training aid for
multiples or other high-risk delivery and transport scenarios.
The baby can be ventilated and will accept a functional ET tube,
NG tube, umbilical catheter, and IV line, as well as a
non-functional chest tube and stomas. Detachable neural tube
defect and omphalocele. Includes diaper, hat, lubricant, 3 cc
syringe, 25 G. butterfly needle and blood powder. Hat color may
vary. NG tube size 5 FR. ET tube size 5 mm ID.
Features & Functions:
1 Breathing - pulse bulb to manually simulate
breathing rate volume.
2 Ventilation - molded-in lung
produces a visible chest rise when ventilated by mouth; trachea
and pharynx are not anatomically correct, but will accept a

- one nostril will accept a functioning NG tube (tube passes
through the body and liquids will either drain away from the
body or into the diaper); optional stoma can be plugged into a

Umbilicus - soft, lifelike umbilicus has a patent vein and two
arteries; umbilical stump functions like a cork, plugging into a
small cavity molded into the abdomen (cavity can be used as a
reservoir for blood drawn through a catheter or to receive
fluids and the drain exits from the diaper area); a separate
umbilicus represents an optional omphalocele.
5 IV Access - several typical sites
have embedded tubing that can accept an IV catheter; one is
functional, allowing the administration of fluids, which will
drain from the diaper area. 6 Chest
Tube - a permanent site in the baby’s side accepts a
nonfunctioning chest tube. 7 Neural
Tube Defect - An optional structure representing an open neural
tube defect can be inserted into the back.
8 Various monitors, sensors, electrodes, etc., can be
attached to the manikin wherever needed.
The Micro Premature Newborn has been a great tool for our staff
education. Micro Premature Newborn Can be used for skills
education of staff to teach stabilization of the small
pre-term Infant for transport to Neonatal Intensive Care.
