The use of Cricoid Pressure (Sellick’s Maneuver) is recommended during Resuscitation and Endotracheal Intubation to aid Ventilation and prevent Gastric Regurgitation. Applying Cricoid Pressure poorly, or not at all, can lead to complications for a patient, including a damaged Airway, Regurgitation, Infection, or suffocation (leading potentially to Drain damage or death). Cricoid Pressure during resuscitation and Intubation is recommended by the American Heart Association. The CPT-Compact is designed for practicing the application of Cricoid pressure and provides a realistic anatomical throat region for locating landmarks, such as the thyroid and cricoid cartilages and the trachea. Also provides real-time graphical feedback to users on their technique, and is a method of rapid and accurate skill assessment. The control box features power on/off and low battery function, graphical display for applied pressure (values given in lbs, kg, and N), timer function with variable settings between 15 seconds and 4 minutes, and a graphical display for direction of pressure (green light in the center for correct directionand red lights to the top, bottom, left, or right of display for wrong directions).
